Milwaukee Hand Tools

The Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation was founded in 1924, and has always aimed to make the highest quality hand tools for professionals. Its first product was the Hole Shooter, an electric drill that could be operated with one hand, a great improvement over previous models. It was enthusiastically adopted by the Ford Motor Company, and Milwaukee Tools was working.

Milwaukee Tools has always focused on the needs of the professional user of the hand tool. Of course, their tools can be used by anyone, but the work done by professionals tends to require more of the tools than the work done by the fans. A professional hand saw is probably going to be used for more demanding jobs and have a longer work cycle. It will have to have more hand and a more robust construction. It should also be more comfortable so that it can be easily used over a long period of time.

Seeing what were the most common failings of the tools then available allowed the fledgling research and development team at Milwaukee Tools to design new and better tools, built to last longer with higher performance than their predecessors.

The Hole-Shooter was refined and improved; and before long it was the go-to tool for workers in the metal working and automotive industries. When World War II commenced, the Hole-Shooter was indispensable to the manufacturing of military aircraft, and the U.S. Navy placed orders with Milwaukee Tools, as well.

Milwaukee Tools has been an innovator throughout its existence. They have been responsible for a number of significant advances in the design and capabilities of hand tools. We talked about the Hole Shooter earlier as a major improvement. They introduced the Sawzall in 1951 as the first easy-to-use portable electric saw. They were the first in 2005 to start using lithium-ion batteries for wireless applications, a big step forward. They have always been leaders in the development of better hand tools.

Milwaukee Tools manufactures equipment for different fields. Electricians, plumbers and HVAC technicians will find families of tools designed for the type of work they do. There are also collections for general contractors and mechanical contractors.

In addition to designing and manufacturing tools, Milwaukee also supports them with its service branch. Repair and calibration services are available in many locations throughout the United States. For remote locations, Milwaukee and FedEx have cooperated to create an electronic service facility that allows delivery to FedEx locations.

A worker’s time is valuable. Tools can be a significant expense, but in most cases their cost is eclipsed by the cost of the worker’s time. To make the most of this valuable resource, always use Milwaukee hand tools.
